Kårstua is a holiday house in Norway which is habitable all year. This is the old farmhouse build in 1930, in the time where land was separated out from the old main farm at Austrått. So we are on historic ground, practically the neighbour of the Lady Inger of Austrått, the famous owner of the farm in the 14th century. The house has been fully rehabilitated in an old fashion style, but with the demands of comfort in our time. A lot of the old and the soul of the house are preserved.
Here you can live in the middle of the experiences. Our neighbours are Austråttlunden, the grove of Austrått, Austrått golf course and the manor of Austrått. It is not far to the marina and the beach. It is a lot to experience both at sea and on shore at Austrått and otherwise at Ørland.
On foot and by bike you can reach the most at your stay in Kårstua. It can be rented as one unit. Kårstua suits for 2-3 families who wish to stay together, large families or groups that know each other. There are 16 beds divided into 4 bedrooms and a loft living room.
Organic self-sufficiency
Self-sufficiency with the organic vegetables and berries of the season. We are operating Austrått CSA. Read more about this here. As our guest you are allowed to harvest the organic vegetables and berries of the season. You have to cook yourself, but with access to the best commodities the result can be really good.
