Biri Landhandel

Local farmers have come together to establish Biri Landhandel. The idea was to showcase all the great food and drinks produced in the area. To everyone's delight, this initiative has been a hit with the public! The store attracts a good mix of locals and visitors alike. We work closely with farmers and producers from the surrounding district. You can be sure that the products we sell are of high quality and locally sourced.

The people behind the country store include Hemhjort, Biri Farm Dairy, Semb Farm, Biri Verk, Ner Gryte, Øfst Oppi, Kristina Hegge and Torvild Sveen. The latter also sells books at the back of the store – both his own publications and a collection of war literature.

The old store building has been renovated, and the merchant’s counter has been restored to its former glory. It was in use in Biri Øverbygd until 1924 and had been stored away for 100 years before Biri Landhandel opened its doors in November 2024. The store has already gained national attention and continues to receive inquiries from others wanting to start something similar.

Biri Landhandel is located across from Biri Veterinary Clinic and is easy to find in the center of Biri: Birivegen 52.

The store is staffed on Friday from 12:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00, and Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00. Self-service is available every day from 08:00 to 20:00. Welcome to our store!
