In scenic surroundings, surrounded by forests and mountains not far from Farsund, lies an old smallholding. Here, the farm is run sustainably with a focus on animal welfare and old traditions.
The farmhouse at Svindal was built around 1890 and has been in the family since 1920. When we arrived at the farm in 2017, the smallholding had not been in use for several decades. Now, life is bustling in the courtyard again, and old traditions from bygone eras are being revived. The farm is home to wild sheep of the original breed, Old Norwegian Sheep, and the conservation-worthy breed, Vestlandsk fjord cattle, as well as chickens, ducks, and rabbits.
Through their online store and farm shop, the farm sells its own skincare line that is natural and handmade, based on tallow from grass-fed cattle. Learn more about this on the website.
