The flavors of our natural honey are shaped by the landscape, the wildflowers and the rhythm of the seasons. Our summer honey is harvested during the summer months, at the end of the flowering season, carefully timed to capture the nectar of specific blooms. Blueberry, raspberry among others. This is why we have different flavors with our summer honey, and creates the unique, light and floral taste. The traditional honey of our region is heather honey (lynghonning). We place the beehives high in the mountains to the wild heather. In the autumn we harvest the heather honey (lynghonning). When storing the honey, we gently stir the honey 2 times a day with a wooden stick for about 2 weeks. To prevent crystallization, this is a traditional methos that creates the thick, creamy texture the honey is known for. Our honey has been honored with awards in the Norwegian Honey Championship and the prestigious national food competition, Det Norske Måltid. This has become a testament to our hard work, and dedication to making quality products to our costumers.
