Staying at Hjelle Hotel is like taking a step back in time. We have kept the old charm of the wooden hotel and renovated and upgraded in a timeless style, so the bathrooms are modern and the furniture traditional. We serve a 3 course evening meal, which is proudly prepared from scratch by our chefs. Our breakfast buffet is simple, good and typically Norwegian.

Hjelle Hotel is situated in Nordfjord with plenty to do, whether you want to experience the fjords, glaciers, walks, or everything in one day! We are perfectly situated to take a day trip to the Briksdal glacier to the south or the Geiranger fjord to the north. We also recommend both longer and short walks from the hotel. Perhaps you would like to hike to Segestad mountain farm with majestic views over the lake and mountains, or just a short evening stroll alongside the lake to a huge waterfall at Glomnes. If you are really looking for a challenging hike, then Skåla mountain is one of the most prominent hikes in Norway, 1848 meters above sea level and the start point is pretty much at fjord level!
