Bolkesjø Gaard is a family-run farm by Blefjell mountain in Telemark with a rich history. The farm is surrounded by forests and lakes, with beautiful hiking trails and great opportunities for fishing, swimming and all that the forest has to offer. We offer accommodation and simple experiences, close to nature.

There are long traditions for tourism at Bolkesjø, the shuttle station opened in 1624. During the national romanticism, Bolkesjø was referred to as "The tourist gate to the wonderland" and people wanted to explore the wild nature and culture in Telemark. The local environment around the farm is still reminiscent of old times, with old timber buildings and beautiful traditional Stabbur. The oldest building on the farm is from the 13th century!

We offer different types of accommodation, all close to nature and unique in their own way. At Stabburet you have the opportunity to wake up in a four-poster bed, with fantastic views of the Telemark mountains. At Stulen you are in the middle of the forest far from modern life. While the Stable is idyllically located by beautiful Follsjø - the perfect water for swimming and fishing. New in 2022 is also a glamping tent by Follsjø!

How about taking the kids on a blueberry walk in the woods? Or a romantic weekend for two, alone in the woods? And nothing is better than grilling your own fish for dinner!

All places are equipped with outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities.

We want to give guests the opportunity to get a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and appreciate simple pleasures close to nature. Here it is charm and tranquility, rather than luxury.
