In Rogaland there is a growing fruit growing. Not least in Ryfylke where much of the cider production also takes place. The climate inside the fjord is well suited to growing fruit and historically fruit wine was made from it. But today it is ciders in various varieties that are in demand.

From Stavanger you can travel to Randaberg and visit Sandal farm which produces a wide variety of ciders. They have many unique ciders for sale. A drive of about 1 hour and 20 minutes takes you to Hjelmeland and the cider producer in Ryfylke. By contacting the company The taste of Ryfylke you get access to both accommodation and their restaurant at Hjelmeland. The restaurant is known for its cuisine and for having local ciders on the drink menu. Accommodation can also be booked through them. Another place to stay in the area is Jelsa hotels or Fossane farm.
