From 16 to 25 January 2026, more than 1500 exhibitors from over 70 countries will gather in Berlin to showcase flavors, innovation and food culture from around the world. IGW is an important international showcase and a unique arena for networking, testing new products and strengthening cooperation between the food and tourism industries.

In 2026, the fair will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and Norway will be represented with a strong and proud delegation. HANEN are, together with Northern Norway, the two exhibitors at the Norwegian pavilion. HANEN facilitates Norwegian businesses and experiences with roots in agriculture and rural areas. We have 20 HANEN-members to represent Norwegian products and tourism, as well as 8 students and 4 teachers from the Norwegian Restaurant School who will make delicious Norwegian tasting dishes at the stand from the products of our producers.

– Grüne Woche provides a very special opportunity to showcase the best of Norwegian local food and green tourism. This is an arena where we build relationships, test new concepts and profile Norway as a food nation, says CEO of HANEN, Bernt Bucher-Johannessen.

Norway's participation in the fair is through a collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Innovation Norway, with support from the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin. Regionally, the event will involve county municipalities, State Administrators, the Sami Parliament, business organizations and HANEN for the organization of exhibiting companies.

The Norwegian stand – Hall 8.2, Stand 160 – offers flavors from all over the country, and in the Norwegian restaurant, skilled chefs and students from Ole Vig Upper Secondary School will serve dishes based on Norwegian ingredients. The restaurant is among the most popular at the entire fair.

In addition to company profiling and food experiences, the Business Development Award in Agriculture is also awarded during IGW. The award highlights innovation and value creation in rural Norway, and highlights the best we have in food and experiences with roots in agriculture.

– For HANEN "It is important to be visible in an arena where consumers, producers, politicians and international players meet. IGW is a strategic initiative and an important part of the work to strengthen local food and rural tourism," says Bucher-Johannessen.
