We are proudly celebrating 78 years of local traditional food this year. We make everything ourselves, from soups, main courses to pastries and desserts. We are proud of this, and our customers greatly appreciate local, homemade traditional food. In addition, we have Smak av Balsfjord where we collaborate with local farm producers to preserve specialties. We hope you can sense both the joy and pride we have put into working with local quality products when you are served tempting dishes.

Our chefs are always looking for new ways to serve classic home cooking.
We make most of our food ourselves and source as much of our ingredients as possible from local suppliers in the region. We get lamb from Hamnvåg Lam in Malangen, feta cheese from Bomstad Gård in Nordkjosbotn, and almond potatoes and boknatorsk from Kåre Frydenlund in Storfjord.
The café first opened its doors on July 4, 1948, after Gudrun “Guri” Lydersen had taken over the property. Today, Vollan Gjestestue is run by the 3rd generation of Lydersen in the same cozy style and spirit of “Guri”.
Since we deliver “home-cooked” home cooking, we adapt our menu according to the season. You will therefore be able to find something new and exciting on our menu regularly.

In addition to being a traditional guesthouse, we can also offer cozy accommodation with good facilities.
