Utne Hotel is Norway's oldest preserved wooden hotel, which has been in continuous operation for over 300 years. It all started in 1722 as a guesthouse with a stove, kitchen, hallway and a bedroom. For several hundred years, Utne Hotel has offered tradition and care for its guests.

Staying at Utne Hotel is like coming home to your grandmother with her fluffy lace curtains and creaky floors and beds. All 17 rooms at Utne Hotel are unique with historical features, furniture and styles. All with their own modern tiled bathrooms. The rooms can be used as twin / double / single rooms. Some of the rooms have a fjord view towards the fjord/quay, others face the quiet back garden. None of the rooms have a television. This is to maintain the historical atmosphere, and stimulate evening chats or reading a good book.

We invite you to a cider tasting upon request. Here you will be served tasty drops and the story behind the production from a selection of the many fruit and cider producers in Hardanger.
