Welcome to Den Sorte Havre Kafe og Gårdsbutikk! We are located at Tveter Gård in Våler in Østfold, a beautiful village about 50 minutes drive from Oslo city center. In beautiful and new premises, in the yellow barn, we serve the world's best porridge and oat waffles, other hot and cold food - and very good coffee! You can also shop all Den Sorte Havre products here, including products from us that you can't find anywhere else.
The farm shop will otherwise be full of unique quality products from other talented local food producers; such as organic apple juice, local honey, farm ice cream and much more.
There is a lot going on at our café – and we constantly have events that are open to the public, whether it be art exhibitions, various courses (e.g. porridge making, vegetarian courses, etc.) or other events.
Opening hours
Saturdays from 11 am to 16 pm (But it will also be open with a slightly smaller menu, when there is production on the farm – typically between 8 am and 14 pm).
Rental of premises
Our beautiful and unique premises are well suited for courses, meetings, conferences and all kinds of celebrations, and we can offer various tailor-made solutions for this.
For teams or associations that want to borrow the premises, we can offer lectures/telling the story of Den Sorte Havre spiced with tastings - so that the entire meeting or get-together becomes an experience.
