Welcome to Tuddal Høyfjellshotel. A small family-run hotel from 1895. Just two hours from Oslo, below Gaustatoppen in Telemark, we invite you to enjoy life and peace.

On the sunny side of Gaustatoppen lies the best preserved wooden hotel from the 1800th century in Norway, Tuddal Høyfjellshotel. The hotel is located 6 km from Gaustatoppen, and 18 km from Rjukan, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Tuddal Høyfjellshotel was built in 1895, and has an impressive collection of antiques and old furniture that are both on display and used in daily life. At the hotel today you will meet the 5th generation of Gurholt.

We have a good kitchen with both home-grown ingredients and a focus on local food. Three chefs work here, two of them with experience from Michelin restaurants. Every evening at 19:00 PM we serve a set 4-course menu.

The wine cellar has many exciting choices and we also have our own beer brewery, Fjellbryggeriet. A popular activity for groups is beer tasting, or flatbread baking in our bakery.

We have 21 rooms, 18 in the main house and 3 in the annex Brostul. The rooms are not large, but they are tastefully decorated, each with its own character. There is a bathroom in every room.

The rooms in the annex are slightly larger and are well suited for families.

Those who visit our hotel appreciate the delicious peace and food. Here you are welcome to sit in front of the fireplace in one of our living rooms, enjoy a good book and a good glass of wine.

There is also a sauna with the option of taking a dip in the mountain water in the stream that flows past.
