Welcome to Trasti and Trine - a year-round adventure company that delivers sustainable dog sledding, food experiences and accommodation! The nature in the local area is used as the arena for our experiences. The food is locally sourced and organic, as far as it makes sense.
Trasti & Trine is run by Johnny Trasti who has dedicated his life to the culinary profession. He was named Chef of the Year in 2009, in addition he has several awards within his profession, and is highly recognized in his professional community. Trine Kristiansen Lyrek has been a dog sledder for over 20 years. She has raced some of the world's longest dog races such as the Iditarod and the Finnmarksløpet. She has delivered sustainable and high-quality dog sledding experiences to guests from all over the world since 2007. Trasti & Trine is located 500 meters from the Alta River. More specifically at Stengelsen in Alta.
Our products
Dog driving:
We have 70 huskies that we use for tourist driving. Short and long trips.
Range:
Gamma is an 8-sided log cabin where we can accommodate up to 24 people for dinner and lectures. Here, all food is prepared over an open fire, the bread is baked in a wood-fired oven and the meat is smoked on site.
Boutique Hotel:
In our new cabins you live in the forest, have tree top views and the feeling of sleeping outside! The cabins are homely and unique, with two floors and views of nature.
Main house:
The main house consists of a training kitchen, where we can offer several different food/cooking courses. The house has a meeting room, and a dining room that can accommodate 20 people. We also welcome dinner guests on request and can serve everything from a simple lunch to a nice 12-course dinner. On the second floor there are two double rooms with private bathrooms for rent.
Lectures and group activities:
We can offer many types of lectures within food and dog sledding. If you have a group that would like to have an outdoor experience from very simple to more demanding, contact us, and together we can build an activity that suits you.
Our wheel of the year:
• May to October: Dinners and lectures on Arctic food and dog sledding in Gamma. For groups. The food is prepared on the elements we are surrounded by, stone, wood and open fire.
• December to April: Dog sledding, ranging from 2,5 hours to 8-day trips across the Finnmarksvidda plateau.

• June, July and August: Open "café" where we sell self-produced food.
