Tjamsland Farm Café

Tjamsland is located a short drive from Rv 41, up on Håbeslandsheia. The farm is beautifully situated, and cows, wild sheep and chickens live here together with the café's hosts Ruth and Jørn. We operate organically, and since 2015 we have produced award-winning cheeses. The café is in the farm's schoolhouse from 1900 and is open from 13:00 to 18:00 on Sundays from Easter onwards.
We serve dinner and other light meals, as well as dessert and cake. The food is largely based on the farm's own production, as well as other local products. We must also highlight the coffee that is served: many have told us that it is the best they have tasted!

Here at Tjamsland you can come into close contact with animals when they are grazing, and you can buy products from the farm. In the shop department you will find locally produced food and various interior products, mainly produced locally. We offer companies and private groups customized events outside the café's opening hours.

We took over the farm in 1996, and in 2014 the cheese factory was approved. Here We produce cheese and yogurt. We believe that the taste of milk from Sidet Trønder and Nordlandsfe is particularly good and Jersey milk is known for its high percentage of protein and fat, and its mild and good taste. Milk from these two breeds together gives our cheeses and yogurt their unique and delicious taste.

It has been an exciting challenge for us to create an income base on Tjamsland. We are proud to have succeeded in doing so, and we want others to see similar opportunities and help reverse the trend of constant closures of smaller farms. We believe that the opportunity for operation on small farms lies in further processing and preferably direct sales to consumers.
