Tingvollost is a family-run farm that makes four types of white and blue cheeses from pasteurized cow's milk from its own farm. The most famous is the Kraftkar cheese, which was named World Champion (the world's best cheese) in 2016, Champion of Champions (the world's best cheese of all time) in 2016, and received super gold in 2023 and 2024 at the World Cheese Awards.

In our farm shop you will meet one of us who works in the cheese factory and you can follow the cheese making process through large windows into the cheese room. From there you can also see into our treasury – the cold room where thousands of Kraftkars are stored for ripening. We make cheese 5 days a week, so there is a good chance that you will get a glimpse of how the cheese is made. A film that spins and plays in the farm shop also shows you in detail how our cheese is made.

In addition to our own cheeses, we also sell a number of other food and craft products from skilled small producers. We have plenty of seating both outside and inside. With us you can buy yourself a piece of cake or a Røros ice cream and a cup of coffee. By pre-ordering by calling 46164000/ordre@tingvollost.no we serve a cheese plate (250 NOK per person), tastings (85 NOK per person) and we can also offer a 30-minute tour with information about the farm and the cheese factory (150 NOK per person).

Our barn is a free-range barn built in 2008, with a new milking robot in May 2020. Through windows in the office in the barn you can see both where the cows live and how the milking robot works. Outside the barn, our cows graze 24/7 during the summer months. They all have names, and you can read a little about each one's personality on one of our signs outside. Around the yard you will also find rabbits, horses and calves. Adapted for families with children with play equipment, playhouse, seating and toilets.

In 2019 we became an approved Handlaget, which is a collection of living craft businesses and experience centers. We have arranged the farm with signs and information, which will give you knowledge about what we work with, in addition to offering tours by pre-booking.

Free guest dock for those arriving by boat, just over a kilometer from the farm shop.

Open farm shop Monday-Friday (8-16) and Saturday (10-14).

Welcome to the garden!
