Bringing old gardens to life
We are proud to be able to use the resources in the local environment that would otherwise have gone to waste, and in this way we give life to old gardens. From the local ingredients we make products according to traditional recipes with pure flavors of fruit and berries. But in the fall we also make spicy products that give the good Christmas flavors. All products are handmade and completely natural without artificial additives.
HISTORY
The company was established in 2018 and has its origins in Poldgarden in Eidsdal in Sunnmøre. Anton Nydal was a committed and skilled farmer in Poldgarden in Eidsdal in the 1920s and onwards towards the 70s. He was a very skilled farmer, and berry, fruit and vegetable production were the main sources of income. After his time, the farm gradually declined, and the orchard has not been tended for a generation. Many of the trees have died, but some are still standing and producing. The initiators of Stolte Anton AS, Per Ove Nydal and Margreta Veiberg, are both great-grandchildren of Anton Nydal. They gradually developed the idea of turning the fruit in the old orchard into a resource. It has also been shown that in the village of Eidsdal, the entrance to the world heritage area, there are several old, unused orchards. They now provide the basis for several of the products – and that is precisely what makes me very happy. Now Kirsti Indreeide has taken over the business and wants to continue the tradition. Berries from our own garden in Nerigarden in Veiberg will be used. Otherwise, most of the ingredients come from other gardens in Eidsdal and Norddal, as well as other villages in Fjord municipality.
An important part of the philosophy is to utilize unused resources; plums and apples from trees that have not been harvested, currants and raspberries from gardens that have not been tended to.
