Throughout the summer and on weekends, we try to offer fresh baked goods. We either bake our own or collaborate with some of the bakeries in the region.

Smak av Sogn Landhandel is in a building from 1849 and there was a general store on the first floor from 1864 to 1964. The general store therefore has an old merchant's counter and large windows. The general store is located in the heart of the cultural environment of old Lærdalsøyri with its 170 protected wooden buildings.

Smak av Sogn Landhandel is located in the middle of old Lærdalsøyri in a building from 1849 and offers local food and drink as well as food specialties from Sogn, Hardanger, Western Norway and the rest of Norway. The country store has, among other things, spices, coffee, jam, lemonade, beer, organic ice cream, chocolate, seasonal fruit and berries, sausages, smoked salmon, stew, goat cheese, lefser and flatbread, canned fruit and berries, fresh baked goods at announced times, gifts and more.

In addition to an authentic general store, there is also a tourist office and gift shop with a large selection of stoneware and textiles from Greengate.

I highly recommend a visit when there is a market in Lærdal, such as in June - then it is Lærdalsmarknad, in September it is Haustmarknad & Smak av Sogn Matfestival and in November it is Julemarknad in Lærdal (www.laerdalsmarknaden.no) All the markets are in old Lærdalsøyri with its 170 protected wooden buildings.
