Prestholt Goat Cheese at Prestholt is located 1242 meters above sea level as one of the highest situated farms in Norway, at the foot of Hallingskarvet, partly within Hallingskarvet National Park. We have been producing Real Brown Goat Cheese at Prestholt since 1990.
Prestholt Geitost started its independent production in 1980, in 1990 the family business started brown cheese production in their newly purchased farm at Prestholt, today they have built and expanded their production with White Goat Cheese, Goat Meat, Goat Sausage, Goat Cheese Caramels and Confections on The home farm Rudningen in Hol.
In 2016, they bought the closed local shop located in the heart of Hol Sentrum and converted it into a local food shop and cheese factory for Kvit Goat Cheese with free access to the production and warehouse. Now they rent out cheese to local farmers around the cheese factory as well. Now there is an opportunity to buy local products and experience cheese making up close.
They are members and active at Farmers Market Oslo and Drammen. It is now 3rd generation goat cheese Cheesemakers who run a farm, stables and production with help from the 4th generation.
