In Negarden we have been growing organic fruit and berries since 1987, and we are approved by Debio. We grow apples, plums, pears, morels, sour cherries and apricots. In the autumn we press and pasteurize apple juice for sale. Down by the fjord is the cabin Fjordbua, which we rent out to holidaymakers.
Our farm has a long history, and the name Negarden comes from the time when the farms on Linge were grouped together in a cluster farm. On the road below the farm, a memorial stone has been erected in honor of the war hero Martin Linge, who was born and raised in Negarden.
The yard is special with high stone walls as a foundation for traditional western buildings. We have put a lot of work into maintaining the buildings in the old style. In this work we have received support from, among others, the Cultural Heritage Foundation, Møre og Romsdal County Municipality, Norddal (now Fjord) Municipality and Norwegian Cultural Heritage with the "Ta et tak" campaign.
Hans Strøm, who was a priest, author and naturalist in the 1700th century, wrote about Linge that: "Linge is one of the most beautiful and best farms in the whole of the Cold (...)", "in a crooked situation against the sun, quite like a drive-bench in a garden..."
