Nedre Valheim Gard is located in Årdal in Ryfylke. We run a small farm with 10 acres of morels and honey production. We started with morels in 2019 and with bees in 2024. Cozy little farm shop where we sell honey all year round and morels in the summer.
Nedre Valheim Grad is run by Margrethe and Øystein. We live on the farm with 2 children, 4 cats and 1 dog. Øystein is a certified beekeeper, which means we are allowed to move our hives so that we can extract the best honey. In the spring, the hives are among the morel trees, while in the summer we move them up into the blueberry heather. When we have extracted the summer honey, we move the hives up into Lyngsheia, where there is heather. In 2025 we won silver in the Norwegian National Championships for our heather honey.
You can buy our honey in our own farm shop here at Nedre Valheim Gard and at Ryfylke confectionery and bakery in Årdal.
We have 10 acres of morels and have the varieties Lapins, Tamara and Sweetheart. The harvest of morels is around mid-July to mid-August. During that period you can buy our morels in our own farm shop and outside Ryfylke Konditori og Bakeri in Årdal. We have also had a stand at Domkirkeplassen in Stavanger for 3 seasons and sell the morels there. The bulk of the morels are delivered to the packing plant here in Årdal and are sold through Coop stores.
