Heather Honey Norway's Own Manuka Honey. Did you know that Norwegian Heather Honey contains more methylglyoxal (MGO) than the famous and significantly more expensive Manuka honey from New Zealand, which gives it an extra health benefit. MGO is known for its antibacterial properties, making heather honey a perfect companion for both health and well-being.

Honningbua offers a unique and charming way to buy honey. Homemade honey is sold 24/7 from unattended stalls designed to resemble beehives. You'll also find locally produced blackcurrant juice for sale, making this a perfect stop for those who appreciate locally sourced and authentic products.
It is a creative and trust-based solution that gives customers access to fresh, local products whenever it suits them.

Honningbua AS – Real honey from Telemark

Honningbua AS started its journey in Sauland with the sale of its own honey. The response from customers exceeded expectations, and to meet demand we are now collaborating with another beekeeper in the family. Our honey comes from Sauland and Midt-Telemark, but it is Honningbua that is responsible for stirring the honey and bottling, which ensures quality and consistency in every glass.

The business has since grown, and we have expanded with two more stalls. In addition to honey, we offer local products such as blackcurrant juice from Sauland and apple juice from Svanland Gård in Gvarv, both products we can proudly recommend.

To ensure both food safety and security, we have installed cameras at the stalls. This has proven effective, and waste has been surprisingly low. Payment can be made easily by card or Vipps.

The stall in Sauland has become a small landmark, often photographed and praised by both locals and tourists. Many visitors from abroad are fascinated by the concept and highlight how safe and unique it is to be able to operate such self-service stalls in Norway.

In the future, we plan to increase the number of our own hives and expand our range with more bee-related products. We look forward to further developing Honningbua and thank our customers for their support so far.
