Hemsedal Flatbrødbakeri A/S is located at the north end of the communal barn, which is located between the town centre and the ski centre. There we make good traditional Hallingdal pastries - such as gofalefse, potetlefse and lompe, lefsekling, rummebrød, lappar and kvikaku (seasonal). We also bake flatbread with and without spices, which are also organic, and which can also be made with organic spelt flour. On request, we can make several of our products organic and/or with spelt. All our products are made without artificial additives.
Everything we cook is fried on an iron griddle. This is one of the oldest ways of cooking. We don't use any "light wine solutions" in our production. All doughs and batters are made from scratch, from first-class ingredients. We also don't add preservatives. The baking itself is a craft. I think you can taste it when you take a bite!
"Welcome to a shop that tastes good..."
The farm shop and café, which is located next door to the bakery and barn, saw the light of day on April 1, 2015. Here, the daily baked goods are served, along with coffee – or you can choose a freshly baked loaf straight from the oven with homemade jam and tea – and stølsrumme in season. You can also order “Hallingdal’s national dish” for lunch, which is snacks and lefsekling. We do not have the usual “fast food” such as hamburgers, chips and soda, but can tempt you with sausages from local producer Tamt og Vilt in addition to our delicious potato dumplings or “apple cake” as they are called here in the valley, and homemade juice and tea.
