Hellberg Gård offers fresh and processed products of fruit, berries and honey, and also produces confectionery. We have a few sheep and a farm dog. The farm also has a tourist facility, called Frosta Fjordbuer, with rental cabins, boat rentals, and a small campsite with a sauna for rent.
Hellberg Gård is a small farm located on the north side of the Frosta peninsula. It has been a family business, and all the children have been involved in working on the farm. We operate according to organic principles, with the least possible use of chemicals, and mostly use green manure. We have some Grå Trøndersa sheep, who will help us maintain the cultural landscape, in addition to the fact that they, together with our farm dog, contribute to the well-being and environment on the farm.
Fruit and berries, honey and confectionery are produced on the farm in addition to some grain. Raspberries have been around since 1918, and are in a way a symbolic product for us, as it was a production that allowed my grandfather to keep the farm going during the hard 20s and 30s. We sell ready-picked raspberries, and offer self-picking of raspberries.
Frosta fruit and berry pressing, was established in 2013, and is an important part of the operation, as in addition to our own fruit, we press a lot for private individuals, who want to make juice from their own garden. It is popular, and many private individuals bring their own fruit and berries. A good number of fruit trees have since been planted, with a view to pressing into juice and selling fresh fruit. We further process many different types of fruit and berries, which we sell from the farm, via REKO and various markets. Confectionery is produced partly with flavors from the farm's fruit and berry products. Honey production began in 2014, and we currently have between 30 and 40 beehives.
The tourism initiative started in 1997 and is an important part of the farm's operations. 6 high-standard rental cabins have been built, a marina for our 8 rental boats and some places for local boat owners. There is also an area for a small campsite, with space for about 25 caravan/motorhome/tent pitches with an associated sanitary cabin.
Boat rentals and fishing are one of the biggest and most popular activities here, but there are also A great starting point for hiking in both Frosta's cultural landscape and in more mountainous terrain. We have both maps and GPS for hikers.
Another way to experience Frosta is by bike. We have 4 regular and 3 electric bikes for rent.
"Mastua" on the farm is, among other things, a pilgrim hostel for those hiking the St. Olavs Trail (Selånger/Sundsvall-Nidaros/Trondheim). In this connection, we also offer breakfast and dinner.
We welcome everyone to the farm, and hope that we/the place can give you a nice experience and good memories.
