Welcome to a seasonal farm sale in green Lier, just off the E134. which is open from mid-June to mid-October. From mid-June each year we open the doors to our store, with everything the Norwegian season has to offer of locally produced and fresh vegetables, fruit and berries. We also have a selection of other farm products, both homemade and from other farms in green Lier.
If you visit us, you will not be disappointed. In our farm shop you will find, among other things, our fantastic sun-ripened tomatoes, grown the old-fashioned way, in a rich selection of varieties and colors. In the summer, our colorful and sweet peppers also arrive. Here you can find most of what the Norwegian vegetable summer has to offer, including cabbages, salads, beans, root vegetables and fruit.
Grøntbua is currently run by Ragne Helene Justad Ravnsborg, who grew up on Gilhus Gård. Ragne Helene runs the farm itself together with her husband, Knut Andreas Malmberg, but Grøntbua and the market garden are now run by Ragne Helene. Here she gets good help from Birgitte, and outside help is also hired to run the bua during the season. It started as a small local farm shop, but has only grown bigger and bigger since its inception in 2004. The girls in the bua use their time when the shop is closed to pick mushrooms, harvest wild onions, pick berries and produce small delicacies that you can buy with you when you stop by, whether it's chili jam, wild onion butter or honeydew jam. The selection is large and varied, and depends on the season. We want to have as little waste as possible on our fresh products and are therefore constantly looking for new ways to use the products. In 2023, for example, we had a lot of green chili and paprika left. This became our new Hot Chili Gele which is now sold in Grøntbua. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for products and news.
