Fossen Gård is a member of the food network Eventyrsmak, and produces local food from mushrooms and crops as well as from the farm's own raw materials. We have been active producers for over 10 years, and have just built our own production facility with farm shop. We look forward to welcoming you, and will open Easter 2024.
In the middle of Buskerud, in the municipality of Modum, with the floodlight from Vikersundbakken in the east and the blue from the Cobalt Mines in the west, lies Fossen Gård.
From the first green sprout of the year until (and often a while after) the first snowfall of the year, the farm wife at Fossen is busy gathering mushrooms and useful plants from nature. Back home on the farm, the raw materials are transformed into delicacies in glasses and bottles. Some of them, such as Huldredråper and Krydret cranberry, have found their way into grocery chains, while others, such as Heksebrygg and ramsløk pesto, are available in selected specialty stores and from the farm's online store. New products and recipes are tested out on satisfied customers at the reko-rings in the local area.
The farm includes 140 acres of variable mushroom forest and 900 meters of shoreline on the Snarum River, with opportunities for fishing, crayfishing and hunting. 200 acres are used for grain production, and some land is set aside for vegetables and berries.
For our smallest farm animals, the bees, the areas around the farm consist of willow, blueberries, dandelions, raspberries and goat's rue, which can provide a good summer migration.
