Eiker farm cheese factory in Hokksund is the place for tasty delicatessen cheeses made from our own cow's milk. The production includes the specialty Holtefjell, a firm storage cheese originating from the French Alps and matured at 3 degrees. Tilsiter Eiker, Eikern, Hvit Eiker, BerBrie, Camembert Eiker and heart brie. We have a state-of-the-art barn, cheese factory, meeting/party room and farm shop. Here you can experience modern farming and at the same time taste our exquisite delicatessen cheeses.

If you pay us a visit, we can tempt you with our charming farm shop with local goodies, coffee and something to nibble on while you watch the cows in the barn. In the summer we have many small calves out grazing. The story behind Eiker Gårdsysteri is three "farming families" who wanted to come together to build a new, modern barn with a focus on good animal welfare. The cows therefore roam freely and decide for themselves when to be milked, eat and sleep. They lie on cow mattresses and have their own scratching brush. The fully automatic milking robot controls the milking! All of this results in good cheese from happy cows!

At cafe Hemsen you can sit and enjoy coffee while experiencing life in a free-range barn.

From the windows of Hemsen you can follow the daily life in the barn and how the cows live. You see them resting on the mattresses, leisurely strolling around, eating when they want and going to the robot for milking when it's time. And the robot knows if it's time for that particular cow to be milked now! If too little time has passed, it has to wait and be sluiced on to the food.

There is undoubtedly well-being here, not a cry to be heard, and this gives us good milk that we need to make
