Biri country store is located in the middle of the Smørøyet by Lake Mjøsa. Right between the Mjøsa towns, and a short distance from the E6.
We sell local food such as apple juice, meat from deer, lamb, sheep, goat, free-range pigs and cattle and organic dairy products. We have daily fresh, organic eggs and award-winning cheeses, and in season we have vegetables. In addition, dry goods such as flour, flatbread, sour cream bread, pea bread, spices, honey, tea, our own general store - coffee - and much more. We are open every day between 08-20 for self-service. You log in via Vipps.

Local farmers have collaborated to start Biri country store. The idea was to showcase all the good food and drink that is made here. And to everyone's great joy, the initiative has been a hit with the public! A good mix of locals and visitors come here to shop.

We work with farmers and producers from the surrounding area. You can be sure that the goods we sell are of good quality and have been sourced locally.

The people behind the general store are Hemhjort, Biri gårdsmeieri/Kluke samdrift, Semb gård, Biri Verk, Ner Gryte, Øfst oppi, Kristina Hegge and Torvild Sveen. The latter has a book sale at the back of the premises - both its own publications and a collection of war literature.

The old store premises have been renovated and the grocer's counter has been restored to its former glory. It was in use in Biri Øverbygd until 1924, and had been in storage for a hundred years before Biri Landhandel opened its doors in November 2024. The country store has already attracted national attention, and is constantly receiving inquiries from others who want to start up in the same way.

Biri general store is located opposite Biri Veterinary Clinic, and is easy to find in the center of Biri: Birivegen 52.

The general store is open Friday 12-17, Saturday 11-16 and Sunday 12-16.

Self-service every day 08am-20pm.
