Bring your family, perhaps share the rent with a family of friends, and experience a real farm holiday in beautiful surroundings and magnificent nature by the Sognefjord in western Norway. We have year-round rentals, but the majority of guests come in spring, summer and autumn.

Alværn gard has several rental units and is beautifully located by the Sognefjord, just 3 km from Lavik, which is a small town.

We have 28 beds divided into 4 units. The main house, the kitchen, the dairy and the new beautiful cabin right down by the lake, Holmen.

The farm has a long shoreline, views of the Sognefjord, a charming sandy beach and large play areas.

On the waterfront is a charming boathouse where you can barbecue or enjoy yourself with family and friends. Here it is possible to set up a long table and eat right on the waterfront with a great view no matter the weather. The large glass doors can be opened when summer and warmth invite you.

The farm is fenced in and there is a bridge over the road so that everyone can walk safely the approx. 200m down to the sea and the boathouse. There is also a fire pit and plenty of space for grilling, cuddling and playing around the boathouse, so there is room for everyone. Access to the boathouse must be booked in advance. The outdoor areas are always shared by all guests.

Motorboats and kayaks can be rented. Paddle boards can be borrowed. Boat mooring at the boathouse.
We also recommend hiking to Fuglefjellet, which offers a fantastic view, or a beautiful sea trip by speedboat to Balestrand, Flåm or Bergen. We can also arrange rental of electric bicycles.
