AGA SIDERI IS IDYLLICLY LOCATED BETWEEN HIGH MOUNTAINS, IN THE HEART OF HARDANGER.
In the best possible climate for fruit growing, apple trees are pruned and cared for year-round. The apples are carefully picked and transported to the farm. Here they are washed before being torn into shreds and mashed until the juice spurts out. We take care of these precious drops, and with a little time, a little magic and a little hard work we are left with something absolutely fantastic; Aga cider.
Joar Aga was born and raised in Hardanger, in 2018 he bought his childhood farm located at Aga in Ullensvang.
The focus on apples was natural, as cider production in Hardanger has been going on for generations. He first participated in the cider competition at the Hardanger Cider Festival in 2017, where he won the amateur class.
This inspired him to take the plunge, and in 2018 he won the professional class with Lagmann cider. This cider is named after the nearest neighbor Agatunet, which is located 50 meters from the cider house with roots dating back to the Viking era. Aga cider house produces 5 different types of cider; Lagmann, Bøddel, Humlepung, Humlepung Rosè and the dessert cider Hermanshaug.
From May to September, daily tastings are organized. For more information, see agasideri.no under Experiences.
