Aarvik Farm is located right next to the large and beautiful Bjørnefjord. Here you can stay overnight in Gamlastovo from 1820 or in Oldemors Stove. On the farm there is an organic artisan bakery and café in Løo where we bake a wide variety of sweet pastries and sourdough bread made from ancient grains.
We also grow vegetables, berries and fruit and you can meet the coastal goats, mini pigs, peacocks, rabbits and chickens. Aarvik Farm is a living example of sustainable agriculture and is a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful nature and coastal life at Bjørnefjorden.
As guests at Aarvik Gardl, you will experience what it is like to be on a small farm and live in harmony with nature. You will enjoy the peace and quiet and find yourself in a place where time passes slowly and nature surrounds you on all sides.
Here you can sleep well on organic Sleep on Nature mattresses and wake up to the chirping of birds and the sound of the waves in Aarvika. And here you can enjoy good, organic food in the café with freshly baked sourdough bread and buns from our bakery.
Our philosophy is to give back as much as we harvest from nature, and to recognize that we are part of nature and its cycles and seasons. We believe it is important to care for and build up the soil and not exploit it out of consideration for nature itself, but also for future generations. Here we grow food without plowing the soil, and preserve biodiversity by not using pesticides or artificial fertilizers.
On the farm we have a small herd of goats of the conservation-worthy Kystgeita (Coastal Goat) that help us maintain the cultural landscape, in addition we have chickens, peacocks, mallards, rabbits and mini pigs.
In the summer it is busy on the farm, then it is high season for most things, both in the bakery, the kitchen garden and in addition it is important to dry and bring in grass so that the animals have winter feed. You may be lucky enough to see us mow the grass with long grass and short grass (mown) in our steep and typical Vestland hills, and if you want, just come and help us with the mowing, but it is strictly voluntary!
We warmly welcome you to enjoy the beautiful space on our small farm and we are happy to share our little paradise with you!
Welcome to Aarvik Farm
All good,
Mrs. Aarvik and her family
