Klostergarden has its origins from Utstein Farm, surrounding the monastery Utstein Kloster, Norway's only preserved medieval monastery. On these historical grounds, the farmers produce meat from free range pigs, lambs and limousin cattle.

Utstein Farm has appr. 175 hectares, out of which 40 is cultivated land. We produce approximately 1400 slaughter pigs annually, including 10-30 free range pigs, meat from 30 beef cattle and lamb from around 500 winter-fed sheep. The latter production results in about 800-1300 lambs annually, out of which about 700 lambs are sold. At Klostergarden, we have long standing traditions for developing quality meat, food with a story, and we can promise safe and delicious food based on generations of knowledge. We have a farm shop next to the monastary, in an old boat house nominated for the EU Mies Award in 2019. Here you will find both our own products and other locally sourced products from the region.

Welcome to historic Utstein!
