We are a small farm hotel run by Tone Rønning Vike and Bjørn Vike. The name is simply our farm and farm number. We offer tailor-made tours, unique rooms, fly fishing, fjords and mountains. Come and let yourself be "mountain-taught"!
We have 8 rooms, all named and decorated after fishermen with a close relationship to the farm and the Aurlandselva River.
Tone is a journalist with a background in the national press and Bjørn is a builder with mountain construction and restoration of old wooden houses as his special fields. Few people know the western mountains better than Bjørn.
In 2012 we took our children with us and swapped city life for country life. We have no regrets. Aurland is a natural treasure we want to share with our guests. You can go from mountain to fjord in no time, always with a waterfall in sight. And we have the world's best goat cheese, organic vegetables, beer – and people! If you were taken by the alluring "huldra", you understandably became a "bergteken", and you remain a "bergteken" to this day.
Aurlandsdalen, Norway's "Grand Canyon", ranked as one of Norway's ten best hiking trails, is the big draw. And then we have of course the Flåm Railway, voted "the world's most beautiful train journey" by Lonely Planet. If you want to cycle the Rallarvegen, we can pick you up in Flåm, ten minutes away. Then you can take a dip in our hot tub, while we prepare dinner and serve it in our newly built restaurant ETE, which can seat up to 50 guests. We strive to use local and organic ingredients.
The fjord landscape has world heritage status, which in our opinion obliges us to travel without leaving a trace in nature. Try a kayak trip with Njord while you're here!
In 2000, the Lærdal Tunnel, the world's longest tunnel, opened, and the outside world came a step closer to Aurland. We ourselves are happy every time the world knocks on our door, whether it is Norwegian or foreign guests. You are welcome to 29/2 Aurland!
