On the idyllic city island, Kalvøy, just outside the center of Stavanger, the Middelthon family runs a small farm. Here you will find cattle and greenhouses, dining premises and a charming little icecream factory.
The premises is called Kalvøy Maritime Park, and offers team building, meeting rooms, dinner and dessert. This is where Mrs Middelthon's icecream-dream started in 2017, when she started making icecream with fresh raspberries for guests in Kalvøyparken. The icecream was well received, and in the winter 2020 she begun production of icecream in portioned cups, for sale outside of the island.
Øy-is from Kalvøy is a restaurant icecream in a cup. That means quality rawmaterials, and we use local materials where we can. Berries are hand-picked on our own farm on Kalvøy, cream comes from the local dairy and we get egg yolks from Hafrsfjord. However, some raw materials come from far away, as we believe that the French producer Valrhona provides the best chocolate, and real vanilla pods taste best from Madagascar.
The ice cream is on sale at several outlets on the mainland, and can be bought on Kalvøy by ordering on 940 59 157.
The company premises Kalvøyparken is open for groups by booking.
