Visit Bolkesjø Gaard, where the cultural heritage is in splendor with beautiful nature! You can spend the night in Norway's oldest wooden home from the 13th century and wake up to a panorama of the Telemark mountains. Årestua was fully restored in 2024 and offers a combination of old traditional craftsmanship and Scandinavian design. There are great lakes for bathing in the summertime and ski slopes in the wintertime.

We are a family-run farm at the foot of Blefjell mountain in Telemark. The farm is surrounded by forests and lakes, with great hiking trails and good opportunities for fishing, swimming and everything the forest can offer. We offer various types of accommodation, all close to nature and unique in their own way. At Stabburet, you have the opportunity to wake up in a four-poster bed and take part in life on the farm. At the Stule you are in the middle of the forest far from people and modern life, free to enjoy nature without light pollution. On the Jonrud homestead by the idyllic swimming and fishing lake Follsjø, you can bring the extended family or a group of friends. In the summer, we also offer glamping at the water's edge at Follsjø!

There are long traditions for tourism on Bolkesjø, there has been a shuttle station here since 1624. During the National Romantic era, Bolkesjø was referred to as the "Tourist Gate to Fairyland" - when people wanted to explore the wild nature and culture of Telemark. The local environment around the farm is still reminiscent of old times, here there are old timber buildings and beautiful stabbur.

Here you can let the children explore. In the summer there are sheep grazing and beautiful flower meadows. The forest abounds with berries and mushrooms, and we might share the secrets of where it is best to pick. Bolkesjø Gaard is also a great destination for couples or friends who want quality time together.

All sites are equipped with outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities.

We want to give our guests the opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and appreciate simple pleasures close to nature. Here there is charm and tranquility, and time to take in impressions from earlier times.
